Boys Soccer

  • BVAL – Santa Teresa League
  • CCS Division II-III
  • This is a try-out sport – participation is not guaranteed
  • Teams
    • Junior Varsity Team (Typical grades 9 & 10)
    • Varsity Team (Typical grades 11 & 12)
    • The players are chosen based upon Physical, Technical, Tactical and Mental elements of their game. The coaches determine the most appropriate placement for each individual player and the program.
  • Season
    • Developmental Summer League usually begins the week after school is done (June)
    • Conditioning (recommended but not mandated) in September
    • Try-outs 1st week in November
    • Pre-season November-December
    • Season January through February
    • Post-Season (CCS) end of February beginning of March
  • Practice
    • Prior to start the following required forms need to filled out
    • Start after try-outs in November
    • About 2 hours each
    • Every weekday 3:00-5:00 PM when there is no game and Saturday 9:00-11:00 AM
  • Games
    • 1-2 scrimmages
    • Typically 6 pre-league games
    • 1 alumni game
    • In the league you play each of the teams in your league twice (14 games)
    • League home games start at 3:15 (except the senior game, JV at 5pm and varsity at 7pm),  away games start at 3:15 or 5:30 varsity and 3:15 JV
  • Player need to provide
    • Cleats
    • Shin Guard
    • Plain royal blue socks
    • Plain white socks
    • Running shoes for practice
  • School provides (for season – needs to be returned)
    • 2 jerseys (one white and one royal)
    • 1 pair of shorts (royal)
  • Donation suggested per player/season $100 ($50 for transportation, $20 to cover the cost of 2 pairs of socks, $15 for a t-shirt. The remaining $15 goes towards equipment)
  • Immediate need of the program
